Go from Spring to Summer in these transitional pieces

With spring rapidly approaching I thought I’d create a quick post on how easy it is to wear transitional pieces and go from “chilled” to “dressed up” by changing a few key items.

My go-to base item was these adorable New Look jeans that is has become a favourite of mine really quickly. It looks great with any top and shoes! I decided to pair it with an off-shoulder top (obviously!) that works so well for the season we’re in right now – the right amount of floral and mid-length sleeves so you don’t freeze should a little bit breeze head your way. The sneakers paired so well with the pops of beige in the off-shoulder top, but that was what added a “chilled” effect to the entire outfit. By adding sneakers and a half-up hairstyle really created a relaxed feel to this look, which is why its so perfect for the transitional season period.

I decided to change up my shoes and opt for these adorable coral platforms from Public Desire – this is the game changer! By adding heels, your outfit immediately goes from relaxed to “I’m going out on date without looking too formal” 😉 Haha! Notice how adding heels immediately elongated my legs, and by putting my curls into a big bun, I’ve also added more height to my outfit. When you want to dress up, I always recommend trying to look taller than you are because it gives the illusion of sliming down the body.

So just by switching up a few things, mine being the shoes and my hairstyle, it can really change the entire presence of your outfit. I use this trick with almost every outfit if I know I am going to be in a meeting and then attending an event later in that day. Keep a stunning pair of heels and a few bobby pins in your car/bag and you’re good to go!
