what shoes ti wear with a midi dress
Fashion

You asked what shoes to wear with midi dresses? We answered.

Fact: Midi-hemlines are the ‘hotter’ cousin of maxi hemlines.

Midi-hemlines paired with roomy knits and statement jackets are among our favourite outfit pairings for this season and there’s really no debate on why. They’re all season friendly, they’re forever trending and they’re so damn versatile. Depending on what shoes we pair them with, they can anchor a range of looks and we’re here to show you exactly how.

Combo 1: Sneakers + Pleated

Even though our moms warned us against teaming long skirts with sneakers, we’re challenging the norm by pairing our super feminine pleated midi-dresses and skirts with chunky sneakers this winter. Everything goes well with white, but we aren’t against mixing colours and prints for some extra conversation points.

Combo 2: Prairie Floral Flare + Western

Filled with nostalgic memories of old western movies past (S/O to Dolores on Westworld), we’re glad to report that the western boot has made its comeback, unsurprisingly, along with dainty prairie-like florals rendered on ladylike silhouettes. While the fabrics remain flimsy and somewhat thin, you can layer your dresses and skirts under warm borg jackets or chunky knits on colder days.

Combo 3: Slips + Stilettos

If you’re looking for something a tad chicer, then high-shine slips are the way to go. For a modern spin on the old Hollywood 20s trend, pair yours with sleek stiletto sandals or boots and complete the look with a mesh undergarment. If you’re feeling particularly extra, complete the look with a faux fur or a leather biker jacket for an edgy finish.

Combo 4: Bodycon + Block Heels

Never has a twosome been more iconic than bodycons and block heels. Important business meeting? Date night? Casual meet-up with the girls? The bodycon midi-dress and a pair of block-heels are your fail-safe option for all of the above. This winter, we’re crushing on knitted and fitted bodycons and animal print block-heeled boots that add extra flair.
