How To Rock Culottes – Part 2

Continuing where we left off from the previous post – culottes and how to style them.

In this post, I thought I’d show you how you can style culottes when the weather is still acting a tad strange (we all know how Cape Town has all four seasons in one day). I decided to use these beautiful blush-toned culottes from New Look as my base for the outfit. I absolutely love this shade because it’s so versatile. Pair it with white or black and you’re good to go!

Previously, I shared some information on things you need to remember when styling culottes. In today’s post, I felt that pairing heels with culottes is something that may seem “easy” but can easily go wrong if you pair it with the wrong top or pair of shoes.

1. Opt for a heeled boot as opposed to a flat boot

Opting for a heeled boot, instead of a flat boot will elevate your legs and give it some shape, whereas a flat boot won’t do it justice. You can keep this in mind for strappy heels or platforms as well, if you are going for a more dressed up look. I think a pointy boot or round boot will work well, as well as a sandal. Zane has really gorgeous clear heels that will add an edge to the outfit.

2. Balance loose culottes with a tight fitted top

Pairing loose pants, like culottes, calls for some sort of balance. Thus, I paired the pants with a tightly fitted bodysuit to shows off my curves. Remember that you’re trying to elongate your body, so adding dimension to the outfit is important. Show off those curves girl!

I hope that you enjoyed this two-part post on styling culottes. I’ve always been a huge fan of culottes, whether they’re long or short. Don’t be afraid to style them up or down this summer.

Until next time,
