How-to style your heels and jeans.

Debating whether (or not) to wear jeans with heels is silly. Why? Because pairing heels and jeans are arguably one of the oldest practices in the fashion business. Be it skinny, boyfriend, decorated or mom jeans, there’s a pair of heels to suit every style, mood and personality. Whether you’re out on the town, doing dinner with a friend or heading to a business meeting, jeans and heels are a fail-proof way to make a fashionable impression. The styling possibilities are endless and the best part of this iconic pair is that it will never – ever – get outdated. Therefore, the question is not whether or not to wear it, but rather how to execute it. It’s also important that you know how to walk in heels.

Skinny jeans + courts

One of the easiest ways to nab this fashion trend is to pair skinny jeans with court heels. There are so many ways to champion this look and no certain way to do it wrong. It doesn’t matter which top you pair it with, a simple white tee or shirt will do, because there’s just something so chic and ‘fashion week-ready’ about this combination. Accessorise your look with gold earrings, and layer with gold chains to round out your ensemble.

Decorated jeans + Simple Vamp Strap Sandals

If you’re looking for something a little more feminine, opt for a decorated pair of denims and strappy sandals. What we love about this combo is that it remains modish and draws attention to your jeans rather than the shoes – though the shoes need to be appropriately stylish too. Style your jeans with a blouse or camisole and sling a bag onto your arm.

Mom jeans + Detailed Stilettos

Alternatively, showcase your shoes instead of your outfit – which is our preferred modus operandi. Mom jeans are a great way to draw the focus from your outfit to your shoes when cuffed at the hem. You’ll want to team yours with a standout pair of stilettos, preferably ones with a detailed vamp strap, or ankle boots with embroidered trims or asymmetrical cut-outs. The most important ingredient in this recipe is the shoes, so make sure that your accessories match accordingly.

Flare Jeans + chunky heels

A 70s revival just wouldn’t be complete without flare jeans. These jeans peter out towards the hem, allowing them to accommodate boots, high-top sneakers and platform heels. Higher up the leg, they promise to hug the hips to play up your curves. In pairing them with chunky or platform heels, we lean into the 70s trend. Add a fun twist to a classic favourite with a puffed-sleeve blouse.
