5 simple steps to better health

Wellness is a journey, not a destination.  

Stand on one foot for one minute. Maybe you can do it without any struggle. Now try standing on the other foot for another 5 minutes. You’re probably going to lose your balance, especially when you switch onto your other leg, that transition might make you stumble. 

Starting a new journey into health, during a transition phase can sometimes cause you to stumble. That’s why it is so important to make small, basic changes before trying to leap.

5 starting steps to a healthier you!

Step 1

Drink more water. Water is essential for our bodies to function. Over 60% of our body is made up of water. Water is needed to carry out body functions, remove waste and carry oxygen and nutrients around our body. Furthermore, water is the most essential element to beautiful, clear and glowing skin.

Step 2

Get enough sleep. Aim for 7-8 hours of sleep a night. When you don’t get enough rest you compensate by eating more and usually, it’s sugary food we reach for to give us a quick fix. Limited sleep is another cause of premature ageing and we don’t want that!

Step 3

Exercise. Movement is essential to life. Exercise increases our lifespan, it lowers your risk of diseases and supports weight loss. Instead of meeting with a friend for coffee, why not ask them to go for a walk with you, coffee in hand. By the time you are finished walking you would be surprised by how many steps you both did! Climb the stairs instead of taking the lift. Park furthest from the entrance of your destination instead of always trying to look for the closest parking bay. Every step counts. 

Step 4

Love yourself. It starts here, a positive healthy relationship with yourself is the fundamental part of building a healthy lifestyle. When you have a negative self-image, it naturally weighs down on your mental state, outlook on life and well-being.

Step 5

Improve your posture. Having a good posture improves your breathing, makes you appear taller and you’ll look even more attractive!
