New York Fashion Week 2017 Wrap Up

Every year New York Fashion Week comes and goes, it is one of the most attended fashion events of the year. Influencers, editors, celebrities and fashion’s elite from all around the world flock to the Big Apple for the star studded event. As Fashion Month moves abroad to London, Paris and Milan, let’s take a look at the biggest fashion trends show-goers rocked during the recently-ended New York Fashion Week.

Tom Ford was the first mega designer to showcase at NYFW 2017, he’s show was the first “must be seen at” even of the spring 2018 season. Immediately after the show, guests revelled at a very un-Park Avenue party. The waiters at the party were topless Adonis types in super-short gym shorts, tube socks and sneakers, their look stolen brazenly from Studio 54 back in the day. 

We can’t do a fashion week recap without checking up on our favourite fashion besties. Gigi and Kendall both walked in the Tom Ford show, where they both channelled their mom’s with the short hair they sported on the runway, they also paired up in a bunch of other shows including Marc Jacobs. At the Anna Sui show Gigi closed this show with her sister Bella; the two models opted to take the runway arm in arm to close out the show during the final group walk. 

But as Fashionista’s Tyler McCall pointed out, Gigi’s sky-high platform heel was missing its twin, so she wobbled unevenly a bit as her sock-covered foot approximated a high heel on tip-toe. Still, the sisters shared a smile as they walked, because no one will ever have your back the way your sister does.

All our favourite celebrities were spotted FROW at most of the big shows, Oscar de la Renta, Tom Ford and Marc Jacobs. We even spotted our very own Trevor Noah and Lupita Nyong along with Jake Gyllenhaal getting their fashion week on. 

Once again New York Fashion Week didn’t disappoint.
