Denim itself may never go out of style, but some particular styles of jeans most definitely do.

1920s + 1930s: Dungarees & Working Jeans
In 1934, Levi’s introduced their first pair of women’s jeans, which were worn mostly by women who lived on farms and ranches.
1950s: The Classic Blue Jean
1960s: Double Denim

Late 1960s: Bell Bottoms
1970s: Tight Dark Washes
In 1979, Madonna wore a black pair of jeans. The move away from blue was oh-so edgy!
1980s: Distressed, Ripped, Bleached and Acid Washed
1987 – Cher in acid wash jeans. What could be more 1987 than that?
1990s: Overalls
Early 2000s: Embroidery and Rhinestones
Okay, so there’s nothing wrong with a little bedazzling; it can be cute in small doses! But this era might have taken it TOO FAR. Fast forward to 2018 and we see this bling making a comeback on our denims.
