Denim Bar – Get The Look – Denim on Denim

Can you wear denim on denim? Of course you can. It was once deemed social suicide in the fashion world but it’s now widely accepted. This is good news for all of you denim devotees out there (we all know a guy who lives in his denim shirt, if you don’t, you’re probably that guy).

But don’t get overly excited too quickly, there’s still room to make mistakes with this look. Who remembers Justin and Britney’s red carpet disaster at the 2001 American Music Awards? If you don’t, here’s a reminder…

We have to make sure this is never, ever repeated, for all our sakes. But, unless you’re seriously unstylish, it’s going to be super hard to ever go this wrong.

However, it’s now time for us to forget about the bad old days of double denim and flares and let’s focus on the positives instead – there are many! This comeback has been incredible and so easy on the eye. Now that we know it can be done, let’s take a look at a few denim outfits where these men did double-denim and nailed it.

Although it’s not the easiest trend to pull off – and when it goes wrong, boy does it go wrong – getting it right has massive pay offs. It’s the menswear equivalent of a handstand press-ups and one handed push ups; only the pros can do it.

If you thought double denim was un-doable then think again. Levi’s started it all off, and since then our obsession with this iconic fabric has lasted through generations. Read more about that here: Brand Diaries – Levi’s
